Wage and hours
Weekly GROSS = wage × this. No overtime on this page.
Default 2080 (40 × 52). Edit it — not a hidden 52-week lie.

Enter an hourly wage. Hours default to 40/week and 2,080/year (40 × 52).
GROSS estimate only. Not take-home, not tax, not net, not 50-state withholding, not benefits.
This is a GROSS estimate only — the number before tax, FICA, 401(k), insurance, or benefits. It is not take-home, not net pay, not tax withholding, and not a 50-state paycheck. There is no W-4, no filing status, no state income tax table, and no overtime. Hours per year default to 2,080 (40 × 52); that assumption is editable because unpaid time off and holidays change it. Confirm the offer letter or pay stub before you spend it.
Annualization, not a timesheet and not weekly paycheck
This page multiplies an hourly wage by hours per year and prints weekly, monthly, and annual GROSS. It does not clock you in. Punches live on the time card. 1.5× weeks live on overtime and paycheck. Clock time to decimal lives on decimal hours. A 14-day punch sheet lives on biweekly.
weekly = hourly × hours/week (no OT) annual = hourly × hours/year monthly = annual / 12 (not 4-week months) default hours/year = 40 × 52 = 2,080 $20 × 40h × 52 = $41,600/year GROSS monthly = $41,600 / 12 = $3,466.67 weekly = $20 × 40 = $800 $20 × 1,920 hours = $38,400/year GROSS
Example: $20 × 40h × 52 = $41,600/year GROSS. Monthly $3,466.67 (annual/12). Weekly $800. Custom 1,920 hours/year at $20 = $38,400. That is not net.
FAQ
$20 an hour is how much a year?
Default 40 hours/week × 52 weeks = 2,080 hours/year. $20/hr × 2,080 = $41,600/year GROSS. Monthly is annual/12 = $3,466.67, not four weeks of pay. Weekly is $20 × 40 = $800, with no overtime. That is GROSS, not net, not tax, not take-home.
Why 2,080 vs 2,000 vs 1,920 hours a year?
2,080 is 40 × 52 — a full-time year with no unpaid time off. 2,000 is a round number that bakes in some unpaid time. 1,920 is a 50-week year (two unpaid weeks, or holidays treated as unpaid). Unpaid time off, holidays, and a 50-week year change the number. Hours per year is an editable input (default 2080) so it is not a hidden 52-week lie. $20 at 1,920 hours is $38,400 GROSS/year, while weekly at 40 hours is still $800.
Is monthly annual ÷ 12 or four weeks of pay?
Monthly = annual / 12, not four-week months. At $20/hr and 2,080 hours, annual is $41,600 and monthly is $3,466.67. Four weeks of $800 would be $3,200, which undercounts a 52-week year. There are 4.333… weeks in an average month.
Is this take-home, net, or tax withholding?
No. This is GROSS only. It is not tax, not net, not 50-state withholding, and not benefits. There is no W-4, no FICA, no state tax table, no 401(k), no insurance. Same disclaimer family as the paycheck estimate: GROSS is the number before anyone takes a cut. Check the stub for take-home.
Does this include overtime?
No. Weekly = hourly × hours/week with no overtime. A 45-hour week is not 40 at the rate plus 5 at 1.5× here. For 1.5× weeks use the overtime calculator (hour split) and the paycheck estimate (weekly GROSS with OT). This page is annualization, not a timesheet and not the weekly paycheck tool.
How is this different from the time card, overtime, and paycheck tools?
hourscard.com is a weekly timesheet: punches, lunch, a printable sheet. Overtime splits a week of hours (first 40 regular, rest OT). Paycheck estimate prints weekly GROSS dollars with optional 1.5× OT. Decimal hours converts 8:45 to 8.75. Biweekly is a 14-day punch sheet. This page only annualizes an hourly wage: rate × hours/year. People search “$20 an hour is how much a year.” That is this page, not those.
