How do assignment weights become a current course percent?
Current course percent is a weighted average of the assignments you typed. Each row is score × syllabus weight. Grade = Σ(score × weight) ÷ Σ(weight). Documented fixture: 90 at 40% plus 80 at 60% is (90×40 + 80×60) ÷ 100 = 84. Empty rows are left off. This is one course’s assignment list — current percent, not a remaining-exam solve and not a term GPA.
Is the weight the syllabus share, or points on the rubric?
Syllabus share. 20 in the weight box means 20% of the course, not a 20-point quiz. If the syllabus says homework 20%, midterm 30%, final 50%, those are the weights. An 18/20 on a quiz belongs in the score box as 90. Mixing those two is how a 20-point assignment becomes a fake 18% of the course.
Do the assignment weights have to add to 100%?
No. The page averages whatever you entered. Homework at 20% and a midterm at 30% is the current percent of those two rows over 50%, not over 100%. Remaining syllabus weight is shown, not filled in as a zero. If the numbers add to more than 100%, confirm the syllabus — the average is still these rows.
Is remaining work counted as a zero?
No. Work you have not typed is left out of the average. Sitting at 84 from 50% of the syllabus does not become 42. This page does not solve for leftover work. If you need the score on the leftover exam that lands a target, that is the final grade calculator — not this one.
Is this what I need on my final?
No. This page is the current course percent from assignments already scored. It does not solve for a remaining exam. For “what grade do I need on my final,” use the final grade calculator. Searchers mix assignment weights with one leftover exam. These two pages do not.
Is this a GPA calculator?
